Norfolk Plaza Hotel

Paddington, London

Project Description:

Full refurbishment of a Grade II listed Edwardian building in the London borough of Westminster and within the Bayswater Conservation Area.

The upgrade sees the number of keys increase from 80 to 87 by demolishing the roof level and adding two floors. Includes the replacement of windows in the rear elevation to match the original design, as well as remodelling the entrance canopy and doors to complement the existing facade.

Internally, the layout will be completely reworked to align more closely with the existing structure, creating airy modern rooms. The multifunctional lobby responds to the challenges of compact spaces in central London.

Overall, the design retains as much of the remaining form of the hotel’s original conversion of three townhouses at 29-33 Norfolk Square.

The architecture and interior design was carried out by Dexter Moren Associates. Elementa provided MEP services.

Project Value: £10.8 million
