About Me
I grew up in South Africa and completed a BSc Property Studies degree which provided me with an all round view of the property industry from accountacy and economics to estate agency, property finance and property valuations to construction management and quantity surveying.
I then travelled to the south coast of France to work on yachts for 2 years. My duties included maintenance of the engine room and other equipment on the boat, serving guests, painting and cleaning. After a full season in the Mediterranean, we moved to the Caribbean and then back again. After this, I travelled Europe with a friend for 6 months from Spain to Hungary and most countries in-between before returning to South Africa.
I found my first job as a Project Manager for a small entrepreneurial company called Propertuity in the centre of the Johannesburg city - a no go area for many people. The vision of the company was to develop the Maboneg precinct - a place where people from all backgrounds could live, work and play. The task was not easy with poor security and services in the area, however the area was a success and attracted many locals and tourists alike. This was a busy role closing off snags and liaising with owners/ tenants in some finished developments, and developing various residential, retail and office projects.
My next move was to AECOM, where I learnt how to structure my project management processes. This was invaluable experience. I worked on several projects in Africa, as well as compiling tenders for AECOM on various projects and PPP projects.
An opportunity to move to the UK arose and I gladly took the position offered at KeyTask. I have completed many inspiring projects, reporting directly to my directors. I have gained great experience as a project manager and cost manager in hotel and restaurant developments, while facing numerous clients, contractors and suppliers.
I then joined FK Restoration, a Main Contractor, and gained great experience managing the trades and site managers. A big change for me.
I am now settling into life in Dublin, having moved across with my girlfriend in 2022.
I have a keen interest in moving the construction industry forward by using technology on site and in the office to make the industry more efficient. I am also very keen on learning sustainable techniques and materials to use on projects.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, cycling, watching football and playing the ukelele.
As a passionate and motivated professional, I’m constantly striving to improve my techniques, expand my skillset and find new opportunities to grow. I am a chartered member of RICS (MRICS).
I hope you enjoy my portfolio and feel free to get in touch with any questions.
